- Family or parent's policy
- Individual, private, or group policy
- Policy offered by Vanderbilt through Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk.
Eligible students will be automatically charged a fee of $1,827.50 for Student Health Insurance for both the Fall and Spring Semesters.
|Annual Policy||Spring Semester||Maymester||Summer Term|
Students who do not wish to subscribe to the student injury/sickness insurance plan offered through the University must notify Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk through their online insurance waiver of coverage acceptable to the University under another policy. Waiver of the student insurance plan does not affect eligibility for services at the Student Health Center. New students must complete the online insurance waiver. The Graduate Insurance Waiver Deadline is August 1, 2020 for the Fall Semester, and January 4, 2021 for students who are newly enrolled for the Spring Semester. The waiver process must be completed at the beginning each academic year. Online waivers will be available December 7, 2020 through January 4, 2021 for new students enrolling in the Spring.
If you previously waived the health insurance coverage and wish to obtain the coverage, please return the petition to add form to Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk. (Mail: PO Box 845663, Boston, MA 02284-5663; Email: email@example.com)
The University sponsored health plan premium will be automatically billed to those students registered in degree programs for four or more credit hours unless the plan is waived prior to August 1, 2020.
Coverage for spouses or dependents is available. These premiums are not charged to the student account. Contact Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk regarding this coverage.

International students are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance plan and may not waive with alternative coverage.
International students who enter the United States at any point during the 2020-2021 academic year or Summer 2021 as a full-time student will be required to enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan. Specifically, you will be required to email firstname.lastname@example.org two weeks in advance of your arrival date to the United States and provide your date of entry to the country so that we may enroll you in coverage. Your Student Health Insurance Plan coverage will be effective retroactive to the first day of the month that you arrive in the United States, and your premium will be prorated to reflect your active coverage period. You will be required to pay for your premium through your Student Account on YES.
