Nathan Green is currently serving as Interim Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs. While in this role he continues his work as Assistant Vice Chancellor for State Government Relations. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Nathan was a partner in the government relations firm RobinsonGreen for the past 14 years.
In that lead role, he provided services for clients in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, pharmaceutical, natural gas, small business, education and municipal governments. He also took a lead role in negotiating agreements on some of the biggest issues before the Tennessee General Assembly.
Before entering the lobbying business, Green served as the executive assistant to Shelby County Mayor Jim Rout. As a key staff assistant, Green acted as a liaison to the county’s 370 neighborhood associations, helped draft a new Community Emergency Management Plan, oversaw the development of the Memphis and Shelby County Sports Authority and was the chief contact with the Shelby County Commission.
He is a graduate of the University of Memphis receiving his Bachelor of Arts in 1991. He and his wife Lara are the parents of three sons.
