SEAL News: November 2, 2010 – Reminders & Headcount Request

Posted by on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in news.

Dear SEAL Members-

A few important alerts and questions:

First, a reminder that we’d like to receive presentation proposals for the SEAL XII conference by November 15, 2010. Please use the format available at http://law.vanderbilt.edu/seal/conferences/2011conference/2011conferencetalks.htm. Proposals will be reviewed after November 15 on a space available basis.

Also, while registration remains open right up to the date of the conference, the fee increases on January 21, 2011. You can register at http://law.vanderbilt.edu/seal/conferences/2011conference/2011conferenceregform.htm. We should be able to have more details on hotel suggestions and travel advice posted on the website soon.

If you think it is likely you will attend the conference but either do not plan to register until closer to the date or are not yet sure of your plans, it would nonetheless be very useful for us to get a nonbinding headcount of certain and likely participants. We are working on identifying hotels and may be able, with some reliable estimates of numbers, to get some favorable conference rates. Please just e-mail me if you are able to provide an indication of likely attendance.

Finally,  with the conference fast approaching I am reminded of the importance of member dues to supporting SEAL’s efforts. We keep the registration fee  as low as possible in order to facilitate attendance, relying on membership dues to make up any shortfalls as well as to support other worthy SEAL initiatives throughout the year. I encourage you to support SEAL with your dues. Payment information is available at http://law.vanderbilt.edu/seal/duespay.htm.

More news to follow…

All the best,

J.B. Ruhl
SEAL President
