Natasha McClure is a pediatric nurse practitioner with a clinical focus on asthma in children and teaches the community health course series within the pre-licensure program at VUSN. Scholarly projects include development of a model for improving chronic disease management in children with asthma. The model seeks to provide experiential learning opportunities for students to and improve patient outcomes by providing an extension of the clinical care and resources they receive in the home environment through an academic-clinical partnership with the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital outpatient pulmonary specialists. She also works to improve access to asthma care and resources in schools by developing a school based asthma education program at nearby Napier Elementary. Her other work focuses on growing global health education opportunities for nursing students in Central and Latin America.
