  • Frank E. Dobson, Jr., Ph.D., is Associate Dean of the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons. He also serves as Faculty Head of Gillette House and director of the Posse Program.  Dobson is a published writer, scholar and a playwright. His novels, Rendered Invisible (2010), and The Race is Not Given (1999) deal with issues of historical racism, violence, and racial reconciliation. Recently, he has published articles on the work of film directors Clint Eastwood, Spike Lee, and John Ford, respectively. He is presently at work on an article which addresses definitions of racial identity, acceptance, and family in the Fast & Furious film franchise.  He is also very involved in community service in Nashville and loves interacting with students!
