Faculty head of house Alyssa Hasty is a professor in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics and Associate Dean for Faculty Development of the Basic Sciences in the School of Medicine. Professor Hasty earned her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and completed postgraduate training at Tokyo University. Her research is focused on understanding how immune cells contribute to the obesity-related risk of metabolic diseases such as diabetes. Professor Hasty has enjoyed working with Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows throughout her career and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with first-year Vanderbilt students. Professor Hasty and her RA team are excited to help Murray House residents realize their full potential.
