First Events of the Year
The Office of the University Chaplain and Religious Life would like to welcome back all returning students with a special greeting to our new first-year class! While we have many exciting events throughout the year, here’s a look at some of the first few.
On Sunday the 24th of August, we held the annual Religious Org Fair for incoming students and it was a great success. With twelve of our religious organizations in attendance, catered Ben & Jerry’s, games, and music, we had over two hundred first-years attend! It was great meeting all the new faces and reconnecting with our affiliated ministries’ students. We hope that this event helped the new class find the religious organization that was right for them.
The first Interfaith Council meeting of the year will be held on Thursday in our Fireside Lounge from 5:30-6:00. This meeting will be a casual, get-to-know each other event. Because this is the same day as the first football game, the Interfaith Council will also be co-sponsoring our first of many tailgates-which will occur before every home game on the patio in front of our office. We look forward to a great evening of food, music, games, and of course, Vandy Football. GO DORES!
