Diverse Dores Community Jamboree

Posted by on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in News.

Each year as we welcome back returning students and are excited to meet new students, OUCRL has hosted a Welcome Week BBQ or reception to show students the facility, let them know of our programs and services, and meet our affiliated ministries, groups, and the Interfaith Council. This year however, we are pleased to say that we are doing even more. Instead of being one of many welcome week activities, a number of Vanderbilt offices have worked together to do all of our welcome week activities in one.

The Diverse Dores Community Jamboree will encompass the office of the University Chaplain, Intercultural Affairs, the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, LGBTQI Life, the Black Cultural Center, Project Safe, and International Student & Scholar Services, to engage students in a walking tour of all the various offices. Each office will have food, games, and folks on hand to talk about the different services and opportunities offered at each place and also have liaisons to help walk with students to the next location on the map. All of the various offices support Vanderbilt students, staff, and faculty and bring something unique to the table. By participating in the jamboree, all will get to know the different offices, locations, services, programs, and people that make Vanderbilt such a wonderful place to be and show how Diverse it really is. We look forward to meeting everyone!
