Barbara Lee – Sacred Sex

Posted by on Monday, September 29, 2014 in News.

Between  sex as sin and sex as sport is an embrace of sexuality as a good gift. How will we make wise decisions about how we will and will not express our sexuality? It is time we develop a Sexual Ethic that frees us to love our bodies and to celebrate the joy of sexual intimacy.

Barbara Lee is an accomplished author, public speaker, trainer and group facilitator who has committed her vocational  journey to the non-profit sector where she is an advocate for diverse populations, particularly the marginalized and voiceless in our society.

Barbara is an ordained minister who served the interfaith community of Extended Grace  for nine years. The mission of this community was to recognize the needs of those on the margins and act in tangible ways to respond to those needs through practices of radical inclusivity and justice.

Vanderbilt’s Interfaith Council welcomed Barbara Lee on Tuesday, October 14th to Alumni Hall for a workshop discussion. More than 50 students came out to talk about this seemingly taboo topic and learn how to engage with it in open dialogue. Lee brought a new manner in which to discuss sex in light of morality and faith, while students heard her message through words, images, and small group activities.
