In addition to the many in-house programs and resources available at The Rec, there are also options to bring The Rec to you! See below for a list of off-site services available to members:

Off-Site Group Nutrition

Schedule a registered dietitian and dietetic interns to speak to your group about a nutrition topic of choice.

Cooking Classes

Expand your culinary skills and enjoy a meal with friends by scheduling a registered dietitian to come to your residence hall or meeting space to lead a cooking class for a group.

Registered dietitians at The Rec are available to teach cooking classes on a variety of topics, including global cuisine, how to eat balanced vegetarian diets, breakfast on the go, or energy-boosting snacks. Topics are only limited by your imagination!

Classes can take place in The Rec’s teaching kitchen, or the instructor can come to you.

Equipment and kitchen tools are supplied by The Rec, but ingredients must be purchased and supplied by the group. Planning for your topic, supplies, and ingredients is done in partnership with one of The Rec’s registered dietitians who will walk you through the steps of this process.

Nutrition for Peak Performance

Wondering what to eat before a competition that lasts all day? Do you want to know how to recover faster after a tough workout? Schedule a presentation for your club sports team with a Registered Dietitian to learn about fueling cutting edge athletic performance through nutrition.

The Rec provides team presentations based on your group’s needs, interests, and schedule. We can tailor messages to what your group is most interested in . Topics can highlight the following:

  • Pre and post workout foods

  • Healthier snack ideas

  • Eating on the road

  • Supplement use

  • Maximizing calories on a campus meal plan

Campus Roaming Fitness Classes

Various group fitness classes are offered throughout the year at different outdoor locations.  See the classes below of roaming classes and join in on the fun!

  • October 19 | Yoga on the Lawn at Wyatt Lawn | 12-12:45
  • November 15 | Meditation on the Lawn at Alumni Lawn | 12-12:45pm

Physical Activity Classes

Schedule a fitness instructor to lead a physical activity session of your choice for your group! We will provide a fitness instructor and necessary supplies. Not all classes are available to be taught off-site, but many are.
