Nutrition Minute: 

Nutrition Minute is held once a week at the VRWC and offers quick tips and free samples of nutritious food to help support healthy eating habits.

Upcoming Events:

Hydrate with Fruit/Vegetable Flavored Water | Thursday, June 29 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Water is our best hydrator. Add flavor and beauty with endless combinations of fruit/vegetables for enhancing consumption during these hot days of summer.

Oh, For the Red, White and Blue / Monday, July 3 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Celebrate the 4th with this festive and healthy red, white, and blue cake.

Popsicles Dripping with Nutrition / Tuesday, July 18 from 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Fresh frozen fruit add nutrition, help replenish electrolytes lost through sweat, and cool us down on these hot summer days.

Tomatoes are Still in Season / Thursday, July 27 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm

This easy marinate is a favorite recipe and a great one to boost the flavor of those delicious tomatoes that are still in season in Tennessee.

Edamame Makes a Snack / Thursday, August 3 from 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Edamame is a nutritious protein that can easily be added to other healthy items such as walnuts and dried cranberries to create a trail mix. Fixed ahead and ready to grab at snack time, this mixture is a delicious source of nutrition.

Fresh and Seasonal Boost Taste / Thursday, August 10 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Seasonal and fresh fruit and vegetables are combined to make this salad delicious and special. A quick trip to your garden or the farmers’ market yields ingredients that make a nutritious addition to any meal.
