Fees Waiver Request
All registered students are assessed activity and recreation fees. Mandatory fees are set by the Vanderbilt Board of Trust and are billed through the Office of Student Accounts. The activity and recreation fees are mandatory fees that are part of your registration and go to support your school.
Students must meet one of two stipulations in order to receive a one-time semester waiver:
- Medical - the Rec has partnered with Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and Disability Services Department to review and best accommodate all medical waiver requests.
- Distance - a student residing outside a circle of sixty miles from the Vanderbilt campus as determined by zip codes, verified by Rec Administration. These students must petition the Student Fees Waiver Committee by submitting the form below in order to receive consideration for a waiver.
Note: A part-time student enrolled for four or fewer credit hours (including audit credit) automatically receive the fee waiver through the Office of Student Accounts. Graduate students carrying thesis or dissertation hours are considered full-time students and are therefore not eligible for a waiver of fees based on part-time status.
To prevent a hold on your account, or late fees assessed, fees must be paid first . A credit on your account will be received if your request is approved.
Please do not submit multiple requests.
Approved waivers may not be reflected as a credit on your student account until the second billing of the semester.
Deadline for Fall 2017 semester is August 31st . The Rec will not consider requests for waivers after the deadline.
