Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) Committee

Committee Charge

The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) Committee reviews matters pertaining to the health insurance plan required for all students and post-doctoral fellows at Vanderbilt University. The committee shall be convened and chaired by the Vice Provost for Learning and Residential Affairs, and composed of representatives from the Graduate School, Dean of Students Office, Student Health Center, and the University Benefits Team. Additionally, one undergraduate, one graduate, and one international student serve on the SHIP Committee. The SHIP Committee meets annually with representatives of the University's student insurance broker to review student health insurance enrollments and usage, and to discuss the impact of federal health insurance regulations on international student status.
