Position Detail

Postdoctoral position to study the neurophysiology of cognitive and psychiatric processes using human intracranial neurophysiology techniques.

Neurosurgery

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Sarah Bick in the Department of Neurosurgery. The lab uses recordings and stimulation from intracranial electrodes in human subjects as well as imaging techniques to study the neural processes underlying cognitive and psychiatric processes with the ultimate goal of developing novel neuromodulation therapies. Current projects include studying the role of dopamine mediated corticostriatal circuits in Parkinson's disease nonmotor symptoms including cognition and impulsivity using recordings from corticostriatal structures in patients undergoing deep brain stimulation surgery, studying the neural activity underlying working memory and impulsivity in an epilepsy patient population, and studying neural activity changes associated with psychiatric symptoms in an intracranial EEG dataset.
