Medicine

The Zinkel lab has a postdoctoral fellow position to study study how inflammation and inflammatory cell death impacts normal blood cell development and progression to diseases such as clonal hematopoiesis, bone marrow failure (myelodysplastic syndrome or MDS) and leukemia. We are further testing how inhibiting inflammation impacts disease.
The current projects use single cells analysis, imaging and bone marrow transplant in mouse models of clonal hematopoiesis and human samples to probe mechanisms of disease. We are also collaborating with the laboratory of Dr. Eric Gamazon to leverage large biobanks such as BioVU to identify gene pathways that predispose to progression of disease.
