Position Detail

We are currently looking for talented post-doc candidates who are 1) passionate towards helping children suffering from disorders caused by gene mutations affecting the GABAergic pathway, 2) committed to uncovering complex disease mechanisms, and 3) dedicated to designing pharmacological and genetic therapies for improving disease outcomes in afflicted patients.

Neurology

Lab Focus: GABA signaling is critical for early brain development and GABAergic neurotransmission is essential for neuron inhibition. Consequently, mutations in GABA receptors and transporters are dominant etiologies of a wide spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders including epilepsy, autism, and general neurodevelopmental delay. Our lab aims to 1) elucidate how mutations in GABA receptors and transporters alter brain function and cause epilepsy, autism, and intellectual disability and 2) design strategic options to more effectively treat and potentially cure the mutation-related disorders.
Position: We are currently looking for talented post-doc candidates who are 1) passionate towards helping children suffering from disorders caused by gene mutations affecting the GABAergic pathway, 2) committed to uncovering complex disease mechanisms, and 3) dedicated to designing pharmacological and genetic therapies for improving disease outcomes in afflicted patients. Successful candidates should have completed a PhD program in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology. Candidates should have experience with animal models or induced pluripotent stem cells and have background in electrophysiology (e.g., patch-clamp recordings). Finally, candidates should have experience developing figures and manuscripts for publications in a timely manner. We look forward to you joining our team and are excited to work towards our common goals!
