The Brunger Lab at Vanderbilt University seeks candidates to fill a postdoctoral position. The lab is particularly interested in developing and deploying synthetic biology tools to control stem cells for regenerative engineering and in vitro disease modeling. Projects include development of stem cell-based therapeutics for musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases; creation of high fidelity models of neurodegenerative diseases via gene editing and rewired signaling modules in pluripotent stem cells; and engineering cells and biomaterials to interface with one another through artificial gene circuits.

Biomedical Engineering

The Brunger Lab at Vanderbilt University seeks candidates to fill a postdoctoral position. Projects include development of stem cell-based therapeutics for musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases; creation of high fidelity models of neurodegenerative diseases via gene editing and rewired signaling modules in pluripotent stem cells; and engineering cells and biomaterials to interface with one another through artificial gene circuits.

The applicant must have a PhD or MD/PhD in bioengineering/biomedical engineering or the biomedical sciences. The candidate should have experience with cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry, and fluorescent microscopy; additional experience with animal models would be an asset. The ideal candidate will be prepared to join our collaborative and diverse team to advance cell-based therapeutics.
