Postdoctoral fellow position:

The Choi lab performs basic and pre-clinical researches that combine multidisciplinary approaches to understand mechanisms of carcinogenic transition in gastric carcinogenesis using novel in vivo and in vitro models which are unique in the gastric cancer field.

Job Overview
We are looking for highly motivated postdoc candidates with expertise on cancer and/or stem cell biology, transgenic animals, CRISPR gene editing and 3D organoids.

The position will focus on
1. To assess cellular mechanisms of de novo cancer stem cell differentiation caused by acquired mutations during carcinogenic transition between pre-cancer and cancer
2. To assess cellular heterogeneity and plasticity of de novo cancer stem cells during gastric cancer initiation. We also seek to identify novel drug candidates which would be applicable for efficient therapeutic or preventative treatment targeting the stem cells in early stage gastric cancer patients

Qualifications

Successful candidates:
1. A PhD degree in cell/stem cell biology or cancer biology
2. A track record of original publications, with at least one first authored scientific publication
3. Experience with transgenic mouse models encouraged
4. Strong communication skills in English, oral and written
