Postdoctoral research in AI, neuroscience, and medical image analysis
Psychology | |
A postdoctoral position to pursue interdisciplinary research at the interface of AI, neuroscience and/or medical image perception is available in Dr. Frank Tong’s lab at Vanderbilt University. We seek excellent candidates with expertise in developing deep learning approaches for challenging object recognition tasks. A foundational understanding of mathematics is a must; some background in neuroscience or perception is preferred but not required. The postdoc will help develop novel deep learning networks that better match the robustness of human behavioral performance and neural responses to objects in challenging viewing conditions. The lab seeks to develop analytic techniques that can better characterize the learned representations and computations performed by DNNs. The postdoc will also have the opportunity to develop deep learning models for medical image analysis (e.g., chest radiographs) to compare with expert radiological performance. This position will be supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health. |
