A postdoctoral fellow position with experience in biological science and is knowledgeable about the basic mechanisms in cellular and molecular biology, immune regulation, and microbiology.
A postdoctoral fellow position is now available in a NIH-funded laboratory at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Research from this laboratory is focused on understanding of the relationship between a commensal/probiotic organism and the host using a highly relevant microbe (Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG) and host intestinal epithelium with implications for normal health, homeostasis and response to injury and/or inflammation. Research for this position will make a novel direction to elucidate the reciprocal nature in symbiosis between the gut microbiota and host and apply this knowledge to develop microbiota-targeting therapies for prevention and treatment of intestinal inflammatory diseases.
This position is a great opportunity for researchers interested in postdoctoral training with a translational focus. Our ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in biological science and is knowledgeable about the basic mechanisms in cellular and molecular biology, immune regulation, and microbiology. The postdoc will be exposed to a supportive and outstanding research environment, focused on the translation of basic research to the clinic, and will gain invaluable experience across a wide variety of subjects. He or she will be working closely with a collegial, highly motivated, multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, and grant-funded position. The initial appointment will be for a period of three years with anticipated renewal upon the continued availability of funding and performance. Applicant materials (CV and List of three references with contact information) should be submitted to directly to:
