Position Detail

The Institute for Software Integrated Systems (ISIS) in the School of Engineering at Vanderbilt University invites applications for Post Doctoral Researcher positions in the area of Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) with emphasis on machine learning methods, security, and resilience. CPS is one of the strategic research areas at ISIS that is currently realized through a portfolio of projects. Our goal is the development of new foundations for analysis and design of resilient learning-enabled CPS. The researcher will have the opportunity to get involved in the development of theoretical foundations, software development and composition, and systems/experimental research using real-life problems.

We are seeking a motivated post-doctoral researcher with a solid technical background and experience in areas related to CPS. Experience in software design and development, and the ability to link theoretical results to systems/experimental work are highly valued. A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

The Institute for Software Integrated Systems conducts basic and applied research in the area of systems and information science and engineering. Applications of its technology span a wide range of software-intensive systems from small embedded devices, through real-time distributed systems, to globally deployed complex systems. Software is increasingly essential to the functions of these systems, and it is also the primary means of adapting them to their environments and users. Our research interests lie in the theoretical foundations, modeling, design, engineering, and educational aspects of these systems.

The initial appointment will be for one year with possibility of extension dependent on performance. Applications should include a cover letter specifying the candidate’s primary research interests, complete curriculum vitae, two primary publications, and the e-mail addresses of three references. The application can be sent by email to applicationsCPS@vanderbilt.edu.

Vanderbilt University is an equal opportunity employer.
