A postdoctoral fellowship opportunity is available in the Johnson Lab at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). The project will explore the impact of immunotherapy, specifically immune checkpoint inhibitors, on skeletal health, to be funded through a position on an NIH T32 training grant (US citizenship or permanent residency is required). Prior experience in immunology and mouse handling is preferred, but applicants with experience in any of the biological sciences are welcome to apply. The Johnson Lab is interested in mechanisms of breast cancer metastasis, tumor dormancy and recurrence in bone, and the effect of tumor-targeted agents on bone homeostasis. The lab is housed within the Vanderbilt Center for Bone Biology. Interested applicants should send a CV, cover letter, and contact information for 3 references to Dr. Rachelle Johnson (rachelle.johnson@vumc.org).

VUMC boasts numerous core facilities, including a state-of-the-art small animal imaging facility, and the Johnson Lab has access to all of the resources needed to efficiently study and analyze the skeleton, including in vivo and ex vivo microCT, Faxitron (x-ray and DXA), and bone histological processing facilities. |
