Searching for postdoctoral researcher to work in close collaboration with Dr. Bejan on information extraction and document classification projects leveraging a large collection of free-text clinical notes.

Biomedical Informatics

Cosmin "Adi" Bejan, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Center for Precision Medicine, is looking to recruit a talented postdoctoral researcher with experience in natural language processing and machine learning. As part of the Vanderbilt Center for Precision Medicine (CPM), the researcher will work in close collaboration with Dr. Bejan on information extraction and document classification projects leveraging a large collection of free-text clinical notes. 

Candidates are expected to have: 
1) A PhD in biomedical informatics, computer science, statistics, or related field
2) Experience in applying machine learning (including deep learning) methodologies to various NLP tasks
3) Excelled programming skills (Python, Java, and R is a plus)
4) A strong publication record in top-tier conferences and/or high-impact journals
