Postdoctoral position on social communication and interaction in Vanderbilt Music Cognition Lab. Ongoing projects focus on rhythm and timing of social interaction and communication, language and social communication development in young children with and without ASD (including study of infant-directed speech and song), and music-based interventions to support social/communication development and family well-being.

Full Description	Postdoctoral research fellow position in the Vanderbilt Music Cognition Lab (https://www.vumc.org/music-cognition-lab/). There are several ongoing projects focused on rhythm and timing of social interaction and communication, language and social communication development in young children with and without ASD (including studies of infant-directed speech and song), and interventions to support social/communication development and family well-being. The postdoc will engage in various study aspects with particular emphasis on data analysis, manuscript preparation/dissemination, and contributing to the scientific discussions and project development, as well as opportunities for paradigm development, data collection, and supervising students and RAs. Candidates should be interested in social or language development/skills; have strong data analysis and organizational skills; and ability to work independently and as part of interdisciplinary team. Training opportunities and projects will be individualized to fellow’s career goals. Candidates may come from a variety of disciplines including but not limited to psychology, speech sciences, or neuroscience; experience with programming preferred. Candidates should have familiarity with or willingness to learn data analysis approaches involving eye-tracking, acoustics, movement coordination, and/or behavior/language coding. OPTIONAL: For applicants with clinically-oriented backgrounds/interests (e.g., clinical psychology, speech-language pathology), optional opportunities available to conduct clinical assessments or evidence-based interventions for toddlers with ASD participating in the research studies. Our collaborative relationships on campus include partnerships with Vanderbilt Kennedy Center/Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorder; Vanderbilt Brain Institute; and The Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy at Vanderbilt.
