Postdoctoral position: Applying natural language processing to understand the role of reading experiences in reading development and syntactic processing
Psychology and Human Development | |
Increasingly, we are reading and consuming digital media. Unaddressed in existing research is the question of how these experiences with print and non-print media impact language processing in readers. This NIH funded study will seek to develop novel measures of digital print exposure in order to examine links between language experiences and syntactic processing. We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to support these efforts at Vanderbilt University, Peabody College (PI, Dr. Duane Watson, Co-PI, Dr. Emily Phillips Galloway), and to collaborate with team members at the University of Pittsburgh (Co-PI, Tessa Warren). This one year postdoctoral opportunity (with the possibility of additional years of funding) will begin in September of 2020. He/she/they should plan to obtain a PhD by August of 2020 or have completed this degree within the last 5 years. He/she/they should be eager to work in a collaborative team, and have a demonstrated record of academic achievement. |

At Vanderbilt, we offer comprehensive benefits and competitive salary. We are an inclusive work environment. Interested candidates should submit a CV and letter of interest to Emily Phillips Galloway (emily.phillips.galloway@vanderbilt.edu) and Duane Watson (duane.g.watson@vanderbilt.edu) by August 1, 2020.
