Position Detail

Seeking a post-doctoral candidate with interests in prescription drug policy, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, or health services research. Ideal candidate would have experience analyzing large data sources, including administrative claims data (e.g., Medicaid, SEER-Medicare, Medicare, MarketScan).

The post-doctoral fellow will work with and be mentored by Dr. Stacie Dusetzina in the Department of Health Policy in the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Ideal candidates would have a strong interest in pharmaceutical policy and prior experience with administrative claims data. Candidates with a strong interest in pharmaceutical policy and experience in managing other large data sources (e.g., electronic health record data) may also apply.

Candidates will collaborate on funded research projects and be encouraged to develop an independent research portfolio with approximately half of the candidate's time dedicated to independent work and the other half to active projects. In addition to collaborations with Dr. Dusetzina, candidates will have opportunities to collaborate with faculty in the Department of Health Policy and the broader Vanderbilt research community. They will also be able to take advantage of training opportunities related to grant writing and professional development at Vanderbilt University and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Institute for Medicine and Public Health.

Candidates should have a doctoral degree at the time that the post-doctoral fellowship begins (PhD in health services research, epidemiology, economics, or related field). Funding for this position is available for two years with a potential start date as early as August 2020.
