Postdoctoral position in silicon photonics and light-matter interaction
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science | |
A postdoctoral position is available in the VU Photonics Lab to investigate light-matter interaction and silicon photonics components for fundamental studies and applications in high speed/low power optical communications and quantum information processing. The postdoctoral research will focus on nonlinear optics in silicon bowtie photonic crystals with extreme energy density and the selective incorporation of phase change materials and light emitters in silicon photonic components. This work will involve collaborative activities with the Vanderbilt Institute of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. Motivation, technical background, communication skills, and relevant experience will be important factors considered in the recruitment process. Prior knowledge of FDTD simulations, fabrication and measurement of on-chip photonic components, and nonlinear optics is desirable. |
