Postdoctoral position in the department of Biomedical Informatics, focused on application of artificial intelligence in health and health care.

Biomedical Informatics

Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Department of Biomedical informatics seeks a postdoctoral scholar in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in health and health care. This program will prepare the scholar to design, implement, and evaluate research on the implementation of predictive analytics tools intended for use by health care workers and patients. Areas of research focus may include social and ethical impacts, design of informatics-based tools, implementation of AI in health care work, and other topics.

Responsibilities of the postdoc include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead collaborations with interdisciplinary research teams
• Develop protocols for qualitative and/or quantitative program evaluations, and supervise their performance
• Submit research protocols for funding
• Author scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals

Individuals interested in postdoctoral training are required to have a doctoral degree (PhD, DSc) in a social, biomedical, computational or other related discipline. Experience in research design and implementation, and scientific writing is necessary. The ideal candidate will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills.
