Position Detail

Postdoctoral position in nanomedicine to develop gold/liposomal hybrid nanoparticles for diagnostic and therapeutic applications

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

A postdoctoral position is available immediately for an ambitious and result-oriented individual in nanomedicine to develop gold/liposomal hybrid nanoparticles for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. This interdisciplinary project at the interface of nanoscience, immunotherapies, nanoparticle/cellular interactions will allow the postdoctoral candidate to collaborate with researchers at the Vanderbilt Imaging Institute (VUIIS), Cancer Biology, and Biomedical Engineering.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or relevant field.  Specific expertise in one or more areas desired from the candidate reflected through high quality publications:

  • gold nanoparticles, liposomes, and general nanomaterial synthesis and bioconjugation
  • nanomaterial characterization specifically expertise with atomic force microscopy
  • immunotherapies
  • Raman and fluorescence imaging
  • cell culture, tumor xenograft development
  • some basic biological techniques such as flow cytometry, IHC, WB

Experience and motivation will be taken strongly into consideration in the hiring process.
