Postdoctoral Research Associate Position We welcome applications for two post-doctoral positions within the Risk and Reliability Engineering research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University.

The successful candidate will work on the development of uncertainty quantification methods for multi-scale, multi-disciplinary engineering systems. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science. The research effort will draw on data analytics, machine learning algorithms, Bayesian networks, model validation and calibration concepts, optimization, systems health monitoring and control, and reliability and risk assessment methods. Applications of interest involve mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, and cyber-physical systems. Candidates must have a strong background in mathematics, uncertainty analysis, and machine learning methods. Significant experience with simulation software development and/or use, and programming skills is required. The positions are initially for 12 months, with possibility of renewal. |
