Small Powerful Bar Magnets on Bases for Projection , Magnetic Levitation on a Pole, Complex Energy Exchanges Between Two Triangular Magnetic Devices

Demo Description

Show complex spinning interactions between powerful small 'bar' magnets.

Also show magnetic levitation on a pole.

Complex energy exchanges between two triangular set of three magnets each can be shown.

Scientific Principles

Permanent magnets can exert large forces on each other.

Very complex energy exchanges can be observed between sets of spinning magnets.

Equipment

  • Two very powerful bar magnets with rotating platforms to place them upon for interactions.

  • A set of annular ring magnets for showing magnetic levitation on a pole.

  • Two sets of three powerful magnets attached to equilateral triangle supports in such a way that each set is free to rotate about a vertical axis.

Equipment Location

  • Kit (163) on [B-3-3] contains the components.

Instructions

The devices are pictured in the photo. Play with them to decide what , if anything , might be relevant to comment on in your lecture.
