Our Summer Academic Internship Housing Program participants will reside in our campus’ shared apartments located at the Carmichael Towers. Summer Academic Intern Housing is available on a first come, first served basis, and a minimum stay of two weeks is required to be eligible. All housing fees must be paid in advance, prior to arrival on campus. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot and will be forfeited if you terminate your contract early or make changes to the number of nights you originally were contracted for.

Carmichael Towers Accommodation  Options are as Follows:

Singe Room in a shared apartment – Our Single Rooms in our shared apartments are furnished with a twin bed, desk, chair and dresser.  It is $41.00 per night and this rate does not include applicable taxes.

Double Room in a shared apartment – Our Double Rooms in our shared apartments are furnished with two twin beds, two desks and two chairs.  It is $31.00 per night, per person and this rate does not include applicable taxes.

All Summer Academic Interns will be house in the Carmichael Towers Apartments this Summer

These shared apartments come fully furnished with twin beds, desks, chairs, dressers, kitchen table and chairs and couch and chairs in the common living room. The kitchen has a stove, sink, refrigerator, cupboards. Each apartment has its own bathroom. Custodial service is provided in the common area baths ONLY once a week. Laundry facilities are located in the basement. Free cable channels and wireless internet is provided. Please bring your own cables to hook up your electronics. Parking is available for $75.00 in the garages located a couple of blocks from Carmichael Towers.

These special housing accommodations are designed to house serious students only and proof of your internship/research must be provided to the Office of Conferences during the application process. Although there will be Resident Advisors and Conference & Event Coordinators assigned to live among the interns, Summer Academic Interns will be expected to regulate their own behavior and confront inappropriate conduct. University Housing officials expect all participants to follow all University policies and procedures, as well as Tennessee laws. There will be a mandatory 24/7 Quiet Hours policy in effect at all times throughout the summer. Vanderbilt University reserves the right to evict students found to be in violation of University policy and/or Tennessee Law. Those found in violation of Tennessee laws or in violation of university policy may be quickly removed from the Academic Intern Housing Program by law enforcement. The offender’s housing contract will be terminated and housing payment forfeited.

Deposits and Refunds

Before May 12, a $250 non-refundable deposit per participant is needed with your application. Starting May 12, full payment is due with your application. All accommodations must be paid in full before check in. The Office of Conferences will provide the estimated cost and payment that must be received 15 days prior to check in. Refunds will not be issued 9 days or less before your scheduled check out.
