A Note From Our Staff
We know that there have been a lot of rapid changes over the last ten days. While it is easy to feel overwhelmed, please know that our commitment to serving Vanderbilt’s LGBTQI+ community has not changed. The staff of LGBTQI life continues to be here for you. We know that it may be hard trying to maintain a routine and stay focused and positive. We hope that we can continue to be a resource in whatever way we can.
Until we hear otherwise, the physical location of the KC Potter Center will be closed. The LGBTQI+ community was built on a foundation of using online communities to find affirmation and connection. In that spirit, we will continue to be present via email, Zoom, and phone. The staff will begin virtual office hours for community members to “drop in” next week. In addition we are reaching out to our affinity group leaders and offering opportunities for some of them to meet virtually. We are giving space to those groups who decide to not meet at this time. Please follow our social media (instagram, twitter, facebook) for updates.
We are looking at alternative ways to deliver Lavender Celebration. Although we cannot celebrate with you all in person, we still want to honor those in our community as well as send off our graduates. Our team is working on something special! (Stay tuned for more details). In the meantime please continue to nominate individuals for our awards. If you are graduating please fill out the graduate form; we want to acknowledge and celebrate your achievements!
Please do be in touch with us if there is any way we can support you. Be safe and be well.
