In the first part of the project, students will actively listen to “Eu sei de cor,” embedded in the Padlet link. By actively listening, I mean that students will be prompted to answer 10 short questions while the video is playing to ensure their comprehension of the language used in the song. They can replay the video as many times as they want or until they can answer the question correctly.

Upon completing the short quiz, students will move on to the second part of the assignment. In this part, students will a) record a short video of themselves responding to the song as if they were the singer’s friend. In more than one minute and less than three minutes, students will greet the singer in a familiar way and speak to her in a friendly way, demonstrating their concerns and offering suggestions. Once all students submit their videos of concerns to Marilia, they will move on to the second part of this task. They will choose two of their peers’ videos and listen to them as if they were Marilia. Upon listening to the videos, students will record a shorter video (approximately 30 seconds or longer) replying to their friends’ concerns and advice.
