Marci Mazza-Fredley is a theological scholar, social activist, and Master of Divinity student at Vanderbilt Divinity School, concentrating in Spirituality and Social Justice. She is a Disciples Divinity House Scholar and lead head resident, Carpenter Program Fellow in Religion, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and Change Maker Fellow with the James Lawson Institute for the Research and Study of Nonviolent Movements.
Her scholarship explores Christian ethics, public theology, social justice, and peacebuilding, with particular interests in liberation theology, race, religion and politics, Israel–Palestine, and interfaith dialogue. Committed to connecting scholarship with ministry, Marci seeks to equip communities to engage complex theological and social issues with compassion and justice.
Marci serves as the Ministry Resident at Eastwood Christian Church in Nashville, where she preaches, leads worship, develops educational programming, and ministers with youth and young adults. She is currently in the ordination process in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), discerning a vocation centered on pastoral ministry, theological education, and justice-oriented leadership. She hopes to serve the church by fostering inclusive communities of faith that embody reconciliation, prophetic witness, and faithful action through preaching, teaching, and public engagement.
