AlertVU test scheduled for Mar. 16

Posted by on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Archives, Official Notices.

AlertVU sends emergency messages in the event of an imminent threat or danger to the Vanderbilt community, such as a tornado forecasted to strike Vanderbilt or an active shooter on campus.

AlertVU rapidly sends messages to the delivery points in its database. Cell phone numbers provided by students to the university are automatically enrolled in the AlertVU database. Additionally, all Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff are automatically enrolled in the system using their Vanderbilt email address.

All persons are encouraged to update their emergency contact information at least annually, or as needed. To update your contact information, proceed to the AlertVU homepage and choose the designated portal.

Students will be directed to the YES system. Once you’ve logged in, access and update your personal contact information, then check the appropriate box to either receive or opt-out of the AlertVU messages.

If you need assistance with these steps, contact Jessamyn Davis.

*Users who opt to receive alerts via text messages may be subject to charges from their service providers
