World On Wednesdays presents: “Short-term Service: The Implications for Sustainable Development and Impact on Community”
Presented by: Office of Active Citizenship and Service; Panel of Student Service Leaders, including Will Stokes from Manna Project International and Megan Twomey from Alternative Spring Break

Students from Vanderbilt participate in service in Nashville, across America, and around the world. How do they go about this? What kind of impact can they have? Does it positively or negatively impact the community? Why is it important? We hope to explore the potential surrounding short-term service work and the learning that can take place when cultures are exchanged and explored through the lens of student service. Lunch will be provided.

When: Wednesday, Jan. 30, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Student Life Center, Lower Level Rooms 1 & 2

Open to the public.  Food and refreshments will be provided!

Sponsored by: International Student and Scholar Services
