Vanderbilt Students Serve Nashville during OACS “I Will” Weekend of Service

Over 400 participants contributed time and energy to some 40 projects over this past weekend, September 12 -€“ 16th, and Vanderbilt students, staff, and faculty got creative in giving back.  Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science held a science carnival at Head Magnet Middle School, Synergy threw a “Back to School Bash” for Corinthian Baptist Church, Grassroots and Alternative Winter Break visited the Nashville Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity served at OASIS Center and a variety of other places, and dinners were made for the Bridge Bunch, Dismas House, Ronald McDonald House by a number of different groups on campus, to name just a few.

There was more service poured out than we can list here, but for a full recap of the weekend, please visit us on  AnchorLink,  Facebook, or the  OACS website. Thanks again to all who participated and please be on the lookout for the MLK Weekend of Service held each January!
