The Office of Career Development
Biomedical Research Education and Training -€¢ Vanderbilt University School of Medicine

Created in 2005, the BRET Office of Career Development provides career and professional development services and enrichment  activities for VUMC  PhD  graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the biomedical and biological sciences. This position will further gain an understanding of program management and administration in the career development office of a higher education program.

-maintain Career Development blog and website
-research alumni outcomes
-maintain social media platforms
-create marketing material for programs and events
-maintain employer database and other data management systems as needed
-track attendance at events
-create outcome comparisons and graphics
-lend program support to career events
-duties as needed

 

We are looking for an undergraduate or graduate school student who can work with us over the summer. We also hope they have the following skills:

-excellent communicator, writer, and proofreader
-must have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
-must have previous experience creating flyers and other promotional materials
-flexible, adaptable, eager, and open to new projects
-interest in biomedical science is a plus but not required.
-interest in higher education is a plus but not required.

This paid position is located in 340 Light Hall, 2215 Garland Avenue, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, TN. Hours would vary from 25-35 hours a week.
