McTyeire Fireside Chat: “The Magic of Majesty: Chinese Architecture and the Yongle Emperor’s Imperial Vision”

The patronage of the Yongle Emperor had a profound impact on the architectural landscape of China and has largely defined our conception of imperial Chinese architecture to this day. This chat will look at the Yongle Emperor and his taste for grandeur as reflected in the architecture of cities, palaces, tombs, and temples expanded during his reign.
