McTyeire Fireside Chat: “Alternative Qi: Science and Spirit in the Making of Modern Chinese Medicine”

Qi is a foundational concept in Chinese medicine.   How did ideas about qi change in China with the introduction of modern science?  How did qi spread to the US, and how might American and Chinese ideas about qi differ? This talk introduces a few key episodes in the history of qi as it became a global concept in the twentieth century.
