Kitchen Table Series: After the World Cup, What’s Next for Women in Sport?

An overview of several forms of discrimination against women in sport and a response to common “economic” arguments against promoting women’s sport. We will discuss the wage gap between men and women’s sport, exclusion of trans women in sport, discrepancies with women in coaching (and unexpected consequences of Title IX), and the underrepresentation, infantilization, and hypersexualization of women in sports media. We will discuss the consequences of these structures, including the cyclical oppression it creates.

All KTS discussions take place at 5 PM in Sarratt 363. Dinner is provided. Capacity it limited to 30 participants.
