International Human Rights: A Conversation with Nicole Bibbins Sedaca and VU Prof. Emily Ritter

Date: Wednesday, December 1 7-9PM
Alumni Hall 202

The Alexander Hamilton Society (AHS), Vanderbilt AEPi, Vanderbilt Libertarians, and Vanderbilt Student Government are hosting Nicole Bibbins Sedaca for a speaker event about international human rights.

Sedaca served in the Department of State for 10 years and is currently acting president of Freedom House, one of the United States’ premier organizations dedicated to researching and advocating for democracy, political freedom, and human rights worldwide. She has also taught at Georgetown and serves as the Kelly and David Pfeil Fellow at the George W. Bush Institute.

We will host the event in Alumni 202 on December 1, 2021. Dr. Emily Ritter, an associate professor of political science, will moderate the event with Professor Sedaca, beginning with questions prepared in advance by AHS and any co-sponsors then transitioning to an open Q&A. The timeline will be as follows:

7PM: Conversation with Professor Sedaca
8PM: Representative from SCNO for case competition opportunity
8PM: Dinner from Tripp’s TN BBQ (chicken, pork, vegetarian)
