Downtown Nashville Pilgrimage

Posted by on Monday, September 18, 2017 in Archives, News.

On Fri., Sept. 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. youʼre invited on a pilgrimage around downtown Nashville with Vandy Wesley and Open Table Nashville.

You will learn about Nashville in a whole new way by participating in interactive discussions about the causes, effects, and realities of homelessness.

We will visit the capitol where laws and decisions are made, visit the Civil Rights room in the Downtown Library, walk past the city jail and courthouse, and join folks in library park for a free pizza dinner. Don’t forget to wear comfortable walking shoes and be open to discovering ways to break cycles of poverty and homelessness. Meet outside the Deans House at Commons at 5:00 p.m.

If possible, please bring these needed Outreach Items:

Socks, Men and women’s pants, T-shirts, High protein snacks

(peanut butter crackers, protein bars, Vienna sausages, beef jerky, etc.)

Basic non-perishable food items (ramen noodles, rice, pasta, canned fruit, cans of ravioli and other ready-to-eat meals, etc.)

Please Contact Nancy.H.Parker@vanderbilt.edu for more information.
