ASCEND Applications are now OPEN!
What is ASCEND?
ASCEND is the preeminent leadership development program for the next generation of major campus leaders. Presented by the Office of Student Leadership Development, ASCEND is a semester-long, cohort-based program for juniors who are rising leaders in their student organizations, governing councils, and athletics teams.
ASCEND will focus on the following:
- Developing skills that will allow students to have a greater impact in their current and future positional leadership roles
- Providing opportunities for self-assessment and reflection
- Offering strategies to improve peer accountability within student organizations
- Building critical relationships among student leaders to promote collaboration and address larger campus issues
- Candidates for ASCEND should hold current leadership positions in their organizations or have demonstrated themselves as aspiring positional leaders.
Time Commitment: Students will meet biweekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm throughout the fall semester. On the weeks they are not meeting, students will be asked to engage in an activity on their own time such as reading, reflection, self-assessment, or a collaborative project.
