2017 Summer Conference & Event Coordinator Applications Are Now Available Online

Each May, whether you are ready or not, the residence halls close and you head back home thinking you can’t stay on campus this summer… or can you? Of course you can stay on the Vanderbilt campus this summer making new friends, enjoying Nashville and engaged in one of the best jobs on campus working on the Conference and Event Management Team!

Join forces with the Vanderbilt University Office of Conferences staff to create a seamless Conference and Event Management Operation. Our goal is to provide the highest level of customer service in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. Our Offices serves as guest relations, a liaison between campus facilities and services, and local attractions.

In preparing for the summer of 2017, we are currently seeking highly motivated and personable individuals to continue the tradition of providing exemplary hospitality to our summer conference guests. The Conference & Event Coordinator or CEC is an integral part of the Office of Conferences and the Student Centers staff.  CEC’s are responsible for the daily success of the conference program by responding to the needs of the visiting conference/event groups.  CEC’s are involved in every aspect of the conference; we assist with all details of camp and conference preparation, arrival/departure check-in/outs, housing, conference meals, transportation, and meeting space requirements.

As a gateway to campus for summer guests, the Office of Conferences is proud to host a diverse array of conference groups and summer camps right here on the Vanderbilt campus. Our summer guests include Computer Software Design Camps, Medical Center Symposiums, Teaching Seminars, Business Entrepreneurs, Programs for Talented Youth, Cheer Leading Enthusiasts, athletic camps, educational conferences and many more. We also provide accommodations for up to ten weeks to students from around the country participating in local summer internships and medical research partake in our Summer Intern Housing Program.

While participating as a Conference and Event Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to gain leadership experience, enhance problem solving skills and serve as an essential member of a dynamic team working together to successfully host conferences and camps at Vanderbilt. The 2017 conference season will run from Monday, May 8, through Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017.

Due to the nature of the position, staff may not hold another job, but can take one summer school class while employed as a Conference & Event Coordinator. Benefits include on campus housing, $7.25 per hour salary for a 40-hour per week, paid training, meals when the Conference Dining Center is open and on campus housing accommodations.
