Originally from Normal, IL, Boston has been serving since he was an adolescent, accompanying his mother to mentor in after school programs and making holiday cards for troops serving overseas. As an Ingram Scholar, Boston has developed a passion for service in healthcare equity on both a local and international scale. Within Nashville, Boston has worked with Siloam Health and Interfaith Dental Clinic, serving their mission to provide healthcare services to immigrants and refugees in the Nashville community. Internationally, he has been working with Project C.U.R.E since 2019. Project C.U.R.E. provides medical equipment to healthcare centers in need around the world. In the summer of 2021, Boston worked with Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health to create and evaluate a curriculum for Camp xSEL, a 4-week medical camp at the University of Liberia that prepares high school and undergraduate students for medical school. The inspiration that he received from his grandfather, his mother, and his fellow Ingram Scholars over the past 4 years drives him to serve in any capacity. Boston’s passion for service is deeply-rooted in his familial belief that he is “blessed to be a blessing to others”.
