Fiji, Republic of Marshall Islands - 350.org, Marshall Islands Conservation Society

Drew Cornaghie, a fellow Ingram Scholar, and I went to the Pacific with a dual purpose of first, helping educate people about climate change and second, increasing international political pressure to cap carbon dioxide emissions at 350 parts per million. We worked first in Fiji, with 350.org to help train 50 climate activist leaders from sixteen different Pacific island nations. I also created a short film for 350 Pacific about the workshop. After, we took the materials from the first workshop, stayed in touch with Aaron, and worked with the one workshop attendee from the Marshall Islands, Helpy Mote, to conduct a second workshop to educate people of the Marshall Islands about climate change, and help them plan an event for the 350.org Day of Action.
