About Us

The Office of the Vice  Provost for Inclusive Excellence collaborates  across Vanderbilt’s ten schools to ensure that the university community has access to diverse talent and creates an environment in which each individual is supported, developed and poised to make a profound contribution within and beyond Vanderbilt.

As   a  central  resource and champion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for faculty and students at Vanderbilt,  our Office  works to  create and sustain an educational ecosystem in which faculty, students and staff exist as a reflection of our local and global communities, thrive productively as scholars and learners and feel supported and valued as members of the Vanderbilt and Nashville community.

The Office also plays an active  role in establishing, aggregating and leveraging best practices for equity, diversity and inclusion across the campus community and fostering substantive intellectual and social engagement and connection.

While engaging and including the broadest array of university stakeholders is essential, the  Vice Provost of Inclusive Excellence   focuses  on faculty and  students  and  works  very closely with the Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to support other university constituencies.
