Awareness and Prevention Programming

All first-year and transfer students are required to complete AlcoholEdu for College- an online, non-judgmental, science-based comprehensive alcohol misuse prevention course.

The Alcohol & Other Drug Commons Module is a presentation given to all incoming first year students.

Host Responsibility Training will prepare hosts to have safe and successful events through the discussion of Tennessee State Law, Vanderbilt Policy, and DUI prevention strategies.

Vanderbilt University observes Great American Smokeout Day on the third Thursday of November each year by encouraging smokers to use the date to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and quit smoking that day. By quitting — even for one day — smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life – one that can lead to reducing cancer risk.
